Harry's Wood

Harry's Wood
Harry's wood is a small wooded area on the left as you drive down Waldley Lane,
which was planted in memory of the grandson of villager Angela Hughes. All
villagers are welcome to visit and enjoy the wood. As it is maturing Angela would
very much appreciate some support in maintaining it, this is her message:-

Wanted - Friends for Harry’s Wood.

This would involve odd jobs from time to time. Right now however, there is an
emergency and a few helpful hands would be most appreciated? Not really dirty work
and it is great to be out with the wild life all around. Thanks to Gordon Skipper, who was
the first Friend of Harry’s Wood, there is a handsome bench by the gate which Gordon
very kindly made from his own oak, where weary limbs can be rested and the bird song
enjoyed. Have yet to see an owl there, but are close.
